Did you think about this award at all when you were an underclassman?
Boyes: I did not know the award was important until one of my good friends, Barrett Moore, and my girlfriend, Taryn Murphy, won it last year.
Kiti: No, I did not. I thought it was cool to see some of the upperclassmen that I admired being recognized for the work they do selflessly, and I wanted to be like them and to serve others. Receiving this award is humbling.
How did you react to being nominated?
Boyes: It had my jaw on the floor. One of the best things about my senior year has been realizing the quality of character and talent the class of 2022 has. We have some of the most talented collegiate seniors in the country in this class.
Kiti: I am excited about the award. It has encouraged me to serve others selflessly. And I hope to live by that standard even after Hillsdale.
What do you think are some of your stand-out accomplishments that earned you this title?
Boyes: Being Head RA of Simpson is certainly one. Dr. Arnn likes to drop some great one-liners at my expense, but he paid me an indirect compliment the other day. He said Simpson talks about difficult things together; if that is what my leadership breeds and if that is what is said of a group I lead, I’m really content with that.
Kiti: I would guess that it is my service to the student body and the college.
What are some of your hobbies?
Boyes: I am a massive, die-hard Cleveland sports fan. I love to work out, read, and watch movies with Mason Bailey and Tom Bricher.
Kiti: I like cooking, worshipping with friends, playing with friends, and spending time with people in any way. What are your plans post-grad?
What are your plans post-grad?
Boyes: I am going to commission in the United States Marine Corps as a second lieutenant.
Kiti: I am hoping to go to graduate school either for financial economics or for accounting.
What does Hillsdale mean to you?
Boyes: The place where I got to live as a “boy-man” for four years and learn to love what I ought to love. It has given me lifelong, real friendships and an earnest desire to be closer with God.
Kiti: Hillsdale is my home. I have family and friends here who care about me, and I care about them. Getting to go to school here is a blessing.
