Several Hillsdale residents reported hearing gunshots Tuesday night near the Hillsdale Community Library on E. Bacon Road.
“A witness to the incident who wished to remain anonymous said a dark-colored Chevrolet Lumina pulled up next to another car and opened fire. Both vehicles then left the area at a high-rate of speed, possibly with the suspect vehicle chasing the second car,” the Hillsdale Daily News reported.
The car eventually returned to the area and made contact with law enforcement, according to the report.
Hillsdale County Police Sergeant Steve Pratt told the Daily News that police officers determined that no one was injured in the shooting. According to Pratt, the suspect vehicle may have been occupied by three people.
The Hillsdale Police Department has not commented on the nature of the crime.
