Seniors Dustin Pletan and Madison Frame were named the Outstanding Senior Man and Woman over spring break. The pair will have the opportunity to speak this weekend at the Parents Weekend brunch on Saturday.

“I’m just excited to have the opportunity to tell other how much of a gift college has been,” Pletan said.

Pletan is an English major and plans to work in nonprofit housing after graduation. Frame is a biochemistry major and biology minor. She plans to seek a doctorate degree after graduation.

Frame said she was honored to have been chosen as the Outstanding Senior Woman.

“There are so many wonderful people at Hillsdale, both students and faculty,” Frame said. “For me, senior year has been one long process of trying to figure out how to express gratitude.”

Junior Cecelia Pletan said she was proud of her brother.

“He has given back to campus and the student body here more than any other human being I know,” Cecelia Pletan said. “Dustin is just wired to give back in so many ways.”

Cecelia Pletan is also a friend of Frame.

“Madison is smarter than I could ever imagine being,” she said. “She is a super intelligent, smart, capable human being. Just a huge role model.”

In addition to being Outstanding Senior Man and Woman, Pletan and Frame have also been dating for the past year and a half.

“I think what it shows is not so much a couple, but the power of friendship and spurring each other to be better,” Pletan said.

Frame said that although she was surprised she was chosen, she was not at all shocked by Pletan being picked.

“I was really happy for him,” Frame said.

Pletan said he is excited to have the opportunity to speak to the student body.

“College has just been a ridiculous gift and I’m excited to share that,” Pletan said.
