Home Culture Faculty art show to open Saturday

The Hillsdale art faculty will be holding a reception to celebrate the opening of a new visual art exhibit, this Saturday, Sept. 28th. This event is free and open to the public. The reception will be held in the Daugherty Gallery of the Sage Center for the Arts and will run from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit is entitled “Joyful Discovery: Visual Art at Hillsdale College,” and will contain artwork created by the Hillsdale visual art faculty, including Art Department Chair Barbara Bushey, photographer Douglas Coon, Professor of Art Sam Knecht, Professor of Art Anthony Frudakis, instructor Bryan Springer, and Katharine Taylor. The reception will be a chance to meet the artists and discuss their work, as well as to view the art itself. In addition, the faculty will be premiering a new book about themselves and their teaching. The exhibit itself will run from Saturday, Sept. 28, to Friday, Nov. 15. All students are encouraged to attend.
