Pizza lovers from all over Hillsdale nibbled their way through 171 pies for a Hillsdale College fundraiser on Sept. 8.
In a cooperative effort, Hillsdale Domino’s Pizza partnered with Hillsdale College’s GOAL program, A Few Good Men, donating 10 percent of sales from that day – a total of $180.12 – to the nonprofit’s fund for liability insurance.
A Few Good Men executive team members are in the process of transitioning the club into a nonprofit organization.
“The biggest cost we have is liability insurance,” said senior Benjamin Holscher, chief executive officer of AFGM. “Once we have an insurance policy we can invite high school students and community members to join our crews.” Domino’s marketing manager and Hillsdale College junior Paul Snyder helped launch the program, which donates 10 percent of the restaurant’s sales to interested nonprofits each Sunday.
“My boss gave me the idea in the first place and told me to run with it,” Snyder said. “We’re happy to give back to our community and benefit whoever we can.” The result of the new fundraising program was a win for both organization and business.
“This fundraiser was a great success,” Holscher said. “I am actively looking into partnering with Domino’s again.”
