GRAPHIC DESIGN: NOW IN PRODUCTION
The art show “Graphic Design: Now in Production” features 21st century designs of logos, posters, film titles and more. The show is hosted by Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Mich. and co-organized by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and Cooper-Hewitt from the Smithsonian Institution National Design Museum in New York. GRAND RAPIDS SYMPHONY
The Grand Rapids Symphony will perform “Boléro,” a mixture of Latin inspired music, on April 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. Ticket prices start at $18. From April 19-21, the symphony will collaborate with the Cirque Mechanics to present a grand show spectacular machinery, acrobatics, and music. Show times vary and ticket prices also start at $18. BUTTERFLIES ARE BLOOMING
“Butterflies Are Blooming” is an annual exhibition of 40 different species of exotic butterflies from around the globe held in the 5-story Tropical Conservatory in the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Mich. Between the sculptures, gardens, and butterflies, there is a lot to see. The conservatory is open until April 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission with a student ID is $9.
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES
“Anne of Green Gables” will be showing at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre from April 19-28. The musical tells the classic story of the young red-haired girl Anne Shirley and her adventures at Green Gables. Ticket prices vary from $12 to $20.
