Favorite song:  “Big Sky, MT”  by the Arcadian Wild (2023)

 

They are my favorite band, and I would highly recommend them to everybody. This song brings back great memories of the big road trip my wife and I took when I was on sabbatical a few years ago — 7,000 miles and 13 national parks over the course of two months!

 

Favorite movie: “Good Will Hunting” (1997)

 

The acting is incredible, and what a great story! I think most people can empathize with both Sean and Jerry’s feelings about Will, and seeing that conflict play out over the course of the movie is engaging. It also ends on a positive/redeeming note, which I always appreciate. 

 

 

Favorite book: “An Immovable Feast: How I Gave Up Spirituality for a Life of Religious Abundance” by Tyler Blanski ’06 (2018)

 

Tyler is a Hillsdale alumnus, and this is something of his spiritual autobiography. It is honest, beautiful, and hilarious.
