Movie: “Contact” (1997)

 

“Contact” is a Robert Zemekis film from the late 90s and I like it in part because it is based on a novel by Carl Sagan. It takes an interesting approach to the sci-fi genre and says something unique about man’s place in the universe. You’ll be surprised by the ending.

 

Music: “Hotel California” by the Eagles (1977)

 

I listen to anything by the Eagles. “Hotel California” is my favorite. It’s very beautiful.

 

Book: “Lord of the Rings” By J.R.R. Tolkein (1954-5)

 

It doesn’t get much better than that. I have such a hard time imagining how that whole world came from one man, but I’m glad he brought it out.
