The Student Activities Board is once again hosting a student favorite event, Concert on the Quad. The event will feature several student musicians and bands on Sept. 10 from 6 to 10 p.m.

SAB director Zane Mabry hopes to continue the traditional aspects of Concert on the Quad, as he said most features of the event will remain the same.

“Concert on the Quad is an annual tradition at this point,” Mabry said, “not much will be different from previous years.”

Sophomore Paul Lindauer performed for the Concert on the Quad last year with his brother Adam, and the duo, the Gemini Dei, will be performing again on Friday.

“I’m excited to be playing again; the song I’m most excited to share is ‘You’re the One I Want’ by Chris and Thomas,” Lindauer said.

This year’s lineup will include the traditional variety of musical genres and instruments, as each band showcases their favorite style and talents.

“There will be a wide variety of music being played, and it will be exciting to see how each group crafts their performance,” Mabry said. “You’ll hear some classics like ‘What a Wonderful World’ as well as newer songs such as ‘It’s Not All About You.’”

The SAB event is a fall favorite where students can unwind and enjoy their friends’ musical talent.

“Concert on the Quad has a unique acoustic feel that is so fitting for the end of summer and the start of fall,” Lindauer said. “I love Concert on the Quad because it showcases Hillsdale’s hidden musical talent and builds our musical culture!”

“It is one of our favorite events of the year because it tends to highlight the closeness of the Hillsdale community both in the audience and on stage,” Mabry said.

Students attending Concert on the Quad can expect a full line-up of student performers, and can grab a snack and hot drink while they enjoy the performance.

“There will be coffee and some dessert and snack foods to enjoy as well,” Mabry said.
