For students looking to take advantage of the warm weather, Campus Rec provides a variety of options for breathing in fresh air and baking in a fresh sunburn.
Students can take the seven-minute drive to Baw Beese Lake and channel their inner mariner with three stand-up paddleboards and three kayaks available at the Hillsdale Country Club. Paddles are available in the Grewcock Student Union. For those running late to class or looking for an excuse to skip leg day, there are four hybrid bikes outside the union — ask the desk monitor to unlock the bike locks. For longer rides, 20 mountain bikes and scenic paths are available at Hayden Park. The park also hosts a beach volleyball court and yard games, including Cornhole, ladder golf, Kan Jam, and Spikeball.
Director of Student Activities Anthony Manno said he is also working on expanding the accessibility of the golf driving range at Hayden Park by designating open range times and providing range balls and a mechanical picker to efficiently pick up the golf balls.
