The Student Activities Board is set to host Midnight Market Feb. 14 from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m.
“Midnight Market is a chance for students to sell anything that they’ve made,” said sophomore and SAB creative team member Isabelle Ellis. “They can sell crafts, food, or any other awesome creations.”
Midnight Market will be held in the Elizabeth Hoynak room.
Ellis said she’s excited to see her favorite sellers from previous years and what they create.
“We’ve got some great crochet animals returning and some of our jewelry crafters are making a return as well,” Ellis said.
Ellis said she will sell baked goods at the market this year, and she is looking forward to selling her homemade cinnamon rolls.
Sophomore Mary Runge will be selling crochet animals at midnight market, including crocheted ducks and frogs.
“I got started because I desperately wanted to learn how to crochet and get a little experience with salesmanship,” Runge said. “Most of what I make at the market will go towards allowing me to fund my art hobbies.”
Runge said midnight market is a unique event because it allows people to see the creative talent of people on campus.
Junior Lydia Colby will sell homemade greeting cards, stickers, and watercolor prints.
“I have been drawing and painting with watercolor since I was a kid, and it’s always been my favorite hobby,” Colby said. “I started my own small business selling my artwork at my local farmer’s market when I was in high school, and, after printing some new designs, I started selling my artwork again last year.”
Colby said Midnight Market was her favorite SAB event last year, and she looks forward to seeing what other people have made.
“Midnight Market last year was a blast,” Colby said. “It’s always so fun to walk around and see what everyone has been working on. It’s a great way to support your friends and learn more about their favorite hobbies.”
