The City of Hillsdale Police Department arrested a suspect in a 2021 shooting, Jeremiah Da Michael Broady, on March 21.

Police arrested Broady on a felony warrant for two charges of aggregated assault with intent to murder, along with felony firearm possession, according to the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies booked 19-year-old Broady into the Hillsdale County Jail just before 12 p.m., according to JailTracker, a service the sheriff’s office uses to provide information on current inmates.

Officers arrested Broady for charges stemming from a Jan. 19, 2021 incident, according to JailTracker.

Deputies responded to assist officers with the initial incident near the Hillsdale Community Library just after 6 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

“Shots were reported as fired in the City of Hillsdale, in the area of E. Bacon Street and West Street,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release. “Two vehicles were involved: a light colored silver or blue four-door passenger car with round taillights, occupied by two individuals. The second vehicle is possibly a Chevrolet Lumina, black or dark in color.”

Broady faces a $405,000 bond, according to JailTracker. Broady will face arraignment in 2B District Court at 10 a.m. on March 30 for one count of assault with intent to murder, according to court documents. Hillsdale County Prosecutor Neal Brady plans to prosecute Broady, and attorney Roderick Dunham plans to defend him.
