Hillsdale’s Best Dance Crew to be determined Friday

Home News Hillsdale’s Best Dance Crew to be determined Friday

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, teams of Hillsdale College students will dance the night away in the Roche Sports Complex, competing in a new event: Hillsdale’s Best Dance Crew.

The event’s coordinator, senior Elizabeth Thistleton, said the success of Mock Rock, a dance competition between campus residencies during Homecoming weekend, inspired the new contest.

“Mock Rock is always a highlight, and we know people love to dance and to watch the routines, so we want to give another similar opportunity,” Thistleton said.

The audience can expect performances from a wide range of competitors: dancers from all corners of campus have entered, drawing team members from Greek houses, dorms, and elsewhere.

Accordingly, skill levels of crew members will vary from novice to trained, and performances of differing genres will hit the dancefloor.

Though the identities of the competition’s judges will remain a surprise to dancers and spectators alike, the fate of the teams lie in the hands of select members of Hillsdale’s faculty and staff.

Thistleton said students both on the dancefloor and in the bleachers will enjoy the evening: “If you love fun, you should be there!”
