The women of Sigma Alpha Iota, the women’s music fraternity, will perform their spring concert tomorrow, Friday, April 11, at 8 p.m. in McNamara Rehearsal Hall.

The concert will showcase the more than 50-member fraternity whose chapter was founded at Hillsdale in 1925.

“There will be one group number that everyone is in and then most of it will be individual acts,” said senior Jennifer Franklund, vice president of ritual for SAI and a member of the concert committee.

The majority of the performance will be acts put together by SAI members performing with either other SAI members or friends outside of the fraternity.

“It’ll probably be mostly singing, but there’s always instrumentalists, there’s always pianists,” Franklund said.

The concert remains shrouded in mystery until the performance, including the identity of the two Masters of Ceremonies.

“We always have MCs who make things funny,” Franklund said.

Franklund said this year, both MCs are SAI members, which is not always the case.

Franklund is excited at the potential for this spring performance, which will boast the fraternity’s large number of talented musicians that will make for an entertaining evening.
