The faculty meeting that took place on March 1 provided an opportunity for several departments to do some housekeeping.

The final round of the Edward Everett Oratory competition will be held in Phillips Auditorium on Thursday, March 8 at 11 a.m. Five finalists will face off for a $3,000 prize. This year’s topic was social networks, which senior Samantha Nasser said allows ample room for diverse responses among the competitors.

The Hillsdale City Council couldn’t agree on how to smooth out the city’s road paving problem, but they could agree on at least one thing at March 5’s meeting:

Hillsdale Chavurah held its first official event, a Purim Party, on March 7. The event, which had at least 60 attendees, was held in Campbell A and B of the Dow Center.

The Lamplighters women’s honorary chose eight new members on March 5, as well as initiating a new faculty adviser.
