Sigma Alpha Iota is hosting an Oscar-themed charity ball fundraiser this Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Howard Music Hall.

Ticket prices are $15 for single persons, $25 for couples, and $65 for groups of five.

All proceeds will go to the Litchfield Community Schools music department.

Philanthropy chair of SAI Ashley Pieper said that the ball will feature live music and food, as well as a raffle at midnight where prizes will be handed out, including gift cards to restaurants and shops such as Johnny T’s and The Udder Side.

“We have really good local donations so those will be really attractive to college students,” Pieper said.

The music building is going to be decorated to look like a movie theater to match the Oscar theme.

“Everyone gets to feel like a celebrity for a night,” Pieper said. “I just thought [the idea] sounded fun. It had to be something you could really run with that people would want to participate in.”

Students from Litchfield Community Schools will be performing some music at the ball.

“It’s really just a fun night to get dressed up, listen to live music, and swing dance,” Pieper said. “The girls [at SAI] are really excited about it and I know it’s just going to be a wonderful night.”
