Brad Kerspilo, general manager of Here’s To You…Pub ‘n’ Grub, passed away earlier this week. Kerspilo, 37, died at home. Peggy Williams, the general manger of Hillsdale’s Dawn Theater and a “dear friend” of Kerspilo, said that he did not suffer from any long-term illness, making his death very sudden.
“The Pub ‘n’ Grub is just around the corner from the Dawn Theater, so it felt like losing one of our own,” Williams said. With its location, the Pub ‘n’ Grub contributed significantly to the Dawn Theater’s business, Williams said. She and Kerspilo were “general managers-in-arms,” Williams said.
Williams said that the Pub ‘n’ Grub has used guest bartenders this week in Kerspilo’s absence. All of their tips go to a fund for his 4-month-old daughter, Jaycee, and girlfriend, Nikki Cowles, the girl’s mother.
Williams also said that the Dawn Theater is holding a benefit concert for Kerspilo’s family Saturday, March 9. Silver Tongued Devils will play at the theater, and Chad Sampson and Russ Martin will play classic rock & blues acoustic style at the Pun ‘n’ Grub. There will be a $5 cover charge for the theater concert.
