Alert: Fatal Hit and Run Suspect Identified

The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the suspect in an Aug. 21 fatal hit-and-run accident, and is asking for the public’s help to locate him. 

Police are searching for Dylan Lee Jones, 24, on a felony warrant with two counts: reckless driving causing death, and failure to stop at the scene of a crash resulting in death. The police released his name and photo Wednesday evening. 

The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 21, near Moore Road and Wildlife Drive in Fayette Township. 

Kevin Brewer, 56, was walking on Moore Road when a white Chevy Malibu struck him, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver got out of the vehicle and then drove away, according to reports. 

Jones’ last address is listed as 70 Logan St. in Hillsdale. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 165 pounds, according to the sheriff’s office press release.
