Airlines offer spring break deals

The time has come: its the week before Spring Break. You are cramming for last minute midterms and dreaming of sunny days on the beach.

If you are a procrastinator and haven’t made any plans yet, you’re in luck.

With the worldwide decrease in travel over the past year, flights are unusually cheap, making this spring break your most affordable and best one yet.

A trip to Las Vegas and back is a mere $45 away with Frontier flight F9 2133, leaving DTW on Saturday afternoon and Spirit flight NK 188 arriving back in Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan airport on Friday morning.

While in Vegas, you can try your luck at the casinos or consider dining in some of America’s finest restaurants, which will be open for 50% capacity beginning on March 15.

If the Vegas strip is not your idea of a fun spring break, fear not.

The Grand Canyon is only about a two and a half hour drive away from the airport.

You can also drive two and a half hours to Zion National Park, where you can wade through the Zion Narrows and swim in the Emerald Pools.

To keep the national park theme going, drive just under two hours to Death Valley National Park where you can see North America’s lowest point, the Badwater Basin’s salt flats.

Another affordable trip is DTW to New Orleans, which will cost you $61 if you take Spirit flight NK 985 and Spirit flight NK 810.

While in New Orleans you enjoy incredible dining and shopping.

Although you may not be able to go to France due to COVID-19 restrictions, the French corridor can give you a glimpse into European architecture.

You can also visit the National World War II museum for an educational stop, or to impress the cute guy that sits next to you in your history class.

As states continue to restrict access to bars and restaurants, more and more people are flooding to Florida, making it a great spring break destination.

United Flight 1533 and Spirit flight 478 will give you a week in Miami for a total of $99.

In Miami, be sure to hit the beach and enjoy the sun and surf.

You can’t go to Florida without stopping in Disneyworld, right?

With Frontier flights F9 1093 and F9 1090, you can spend a week in Orlando for just $101.

You will have to drive to the Indianapolis International Airport to catch this deal, but a week with Mickey Mouse is definitely worth it.

And, if you can’t leave this spring break, fear not. If you are willing to cut class, Frontier is offering a $21 round trip from ORD-LAS Monday April 26, returning Wednesday May 5.

You can gamble away all the money you saved!
