What made you choose Hillsdale?

I have some family in the area who knew about it and recommended it. I knew it was a good school with a strong econ department. Last year, I visited with the tennis team and coach and I really liked it.

What are your academic interests?

I love studying econ, so I want to do something with that. I don’t know what though.

What are you looking forward to the most this year?

Learning a lot and trying to win our conference, which I think we can do. It’s our team goal.

How are you adjusting to being so far away from home?

I love it here so far and I’m really happy, but there are some things I miss. I miss my dog, and my family a little bit too, but mostly my dog.

How do you like being on your new team?

I love it so far. I like all my teammates, my coach, and the practices are already making me a better player.

What is it like for you adjusting to a new schedule, balancing school and sport?

It hasn’t been too bad so far because I haven’t had any tests or papers, but I assume it’ll get worse. But it has taught me to manage my time better, which is still a work in progress.

What are your goals for this season?

We want to make NCAAs.

What are your personal goals for your career as a Charger?

I just want to work hard and try to improve as much as I can, and compete for a spot in our lineup.

Describe the differences between high school tennis and tennis at Hillsdale

Just the level, everyone on the team is really good and competitive. In high school most matches were pretty easy, but at this level everyone is a solid player.

Are there other clubs you are involved in or looking to join?

After our fall season is over, I might join chess club. I used to play a little, it’s fun.

Who is your favorite tennis player, and why?

Roger Federer, because he plays so beautifully and makes the game look easy.
