Rose pleads guilty to drunk driving

Home City News Rose pleads guilty to drunk driving

Hillsdale Board of Public Utilities Director Rickie J. Rose pleaded guilty to one count of driving with a high blood alcohol content (over .17 percent) this week, on the condition that days he will spend in treatment will count for jail time.

Rose was arrested for drunk driving after crashing into a tree in Reading, Michigan, on Jan. 24. Because a breathalyzer test registered his BAC at .23, almost three times higher than the legal limit of .08, he will be charged under Michigan’s “Super Drunk” law.

At a court appearance in Michigan’s 2nd District Court Wednesday, Rose pleaded guilty with the condition that “the people have no objection to the defendant getting credit for days in patient treatment as credit for jail,” according to court documents.

This is Rose’s second time being convicted of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Rose will appear in court for sentencing on March 3 at 9 a.m. in the district courthouse on N. Howell St.
